What’s In A Name?

 

#BobbyJindalSoWhite had been trending on Twitter when Toronto Visual Artist, Bobby Small aka Robert Small took to Facebook to ridicule the Republican politician of Indian descent.

What transpired is a lesson in identity and history. I don’t believe any person of colour should make fun of a successful man for being “whitewashed” no matter his politics.

By his own words, Robert Small is a “relevant” man in the Black community. His Legacy posters are distributed to schools and other institutions to highlight the successes of Black Canadians during Black History Month, and other occasions.

His exclusionary practices are highlighted in the following conversation we had via social media:
